Location
3 1/2 miles north of Malcolm or 4 miles west of Raymond. 
(Approximately 15-20 miles north-west of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Branched Oak
1800 surface acres of water at Branched Oak with 5 boat docks for public use. There are several different types of campgrounds, some with solar heated showers and some electric hook-ups for R.V. camping with dump stations. There is a marina and restaurant located in the northeast corner of the lake in area 11.

Fishing
Branched has several species of fish which include largemouth bass, bluegill, northern pike, walleye, wipers, white perch bullhead, crappie, carp, channel catfish, blue catfish and flathead catfish.

There is a 10-inch minimum length limit on crappie, a 15-inch minimum length limit on largemouth bass and a 22-inch minimum length limit on walleye. Branched Oak Reservoir is a total catch and release for striped bass/white bass hybrids (wipers) and flathead catfish.

In 1997 Branched Oak produced 64 striped /white bass, 26 walleye, 15 flathead catfish, 11 channel catfish, 1 largemouth bass and 1 white perch master anglers.

Last year Branched Oak was second in the state with the most flathead catfish. Branched Oak was also third with the most striped bass / white bass and fifth in the state for walleye. May, June and July were the best months for flathead catfish / June and July were the two hotest months for the striped bass hybrid and April produced 24 of the 26 master angler fish for the lake.

In 1998 Branched Oak produced 131 striped /white bass, 31 walleye, 12 flathead catfish, 11 channel catfish, 1 largemouth bass, 1 bluegill and 1 common carp master anglers.

Last year Branched Oak was third in the state with the most flathead catfish, channel catfish and striped bass / white bass. April produced 10 trophy striped bass hybrids, May 67, June 16, July 13, August 5, September 17 and October 3.
Branched Oak was also fourth in the state for walleye.

 

1999 Branched Oak produced 28 striped /white bass, 18 walleye, 11 flathead catfish, 10 channel catfish, 1 largemouth bass and 1 common carp for master anglers.
